Example: A leased estate that gives the tenant the right to possession that both parties agree is for an indefinite period and that either party may terminate upon proper notice. A tenancy at will may arise out of an express contract or by implication. Because a tenancy at will can end at any time, the tenant cannot assign or grant his estate to another.
