Suspended sentence

Example: A conviction of a crime followed by a sentence that is given formally, but not actually served; usually done for first conviction for a minor crime. For example, A is convicted of a crime and sentenced to two years in prison but the sentence is suspended if A does not do anything wrong. If A is arrested for another crime, he will have to serve the original two years.
